The Three Handles of Tomorrow
By Dr. Victor Jean Ouellette, October 14, 2008;  Edited December 13, 2012

Tomorrow offers us a new day. That new day offers us choices. There are three handles with which we can grab that new day. This creates a problem because we only have two hands. In the confusion of what to do most people do not grab the day at all. It is easy to just sit back and do nothing and let the day roll along. Well, roll along it will and we will be left behind unless we grab onto the day with those handles.

It is said that if you pick any adult human out of the entire world you can infer that the circumstances that they are found within are a consequence of three things. Those three things are decisions, attitude, and chance. The confounding variable in these three handles is that humans can group together and appoint a small few to make decisions for them. Also, some nefarious individuals can usurp the decision making role by brute force. The history of the human race has many stories in this regard, that have been recorded in history for our pleasure. It is often argued that a community can steal one’s choices and remove one’s decisions leading to a fracturing of attitude that leaves one vulnerable to the viscidity of chance.

Chance, of course, has two heads. One head is composed of chances all revolving around poor decisions and poor attitude. Birds of a feather flock together it has been said. Poor attitude and bad decisions bring more bad chance and even worse bad attitude, all commiserating with each other in a briny sea of despair.

The other head of chance is composed of good decisions and good attitude that bring along with it more good decisions and even better attitude. The swirl of inflection is infectious and caries this person on to greater things. Despair is not a part of the lexicon as there is no time for this emotion.

Leaving aside the community involvement, let’s focus on the three handles of tomorrow. Decisions and attitude are the obvious choices that many people ‘in-the-know’ use to schedule their tomorrows. Taking hold of those two handles will help you along the roadway to optimal health and Wellness. You can learn a bit about this in Optimal Health Wellness workshops. You can start on your tomorrows by getting involved with the program today.
